THE CULMS
Cut and mulch
Forestry mulching takes the culms and the brush growing up around them down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
UNION MILLS, RUTHERFORD COUNTY
The Second Broad River runs through Union Mills, and the bamboo we get called about here usually started as a planting near the farmhouse that has spent years working its way toward the river bottom. Nine miles from our shop, we clear it, treat the rhizomes and come back for new shoots.
Done by Brush Masters, Rutherfordton, NC. Fixed written price, no day rates.
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.

What's includedBAMBOO IN UNION MILLS
Union Mills is unincorporated farm country along the Second Broad River, and the bamboo jobs we take on here follow a familiar shape: a stand planted for shade or privacy near the house that's since spread toward the river bottom, a hayfield edge, or the line between two neighboring farms. The soft, well-watered ground near the river gives rhizomes very little resistance once they start moving, and a planting that has had a decade or two to work with can cover more ground than its age would suggest.
Rather than being covered by a satellite station from a nearby town, Union Mills has its own dedicated fire department on Hudlow Road, which says something about how self-sufficient this community has stayed compared with places closer to Forest City or Rutherfordton. The properties we quote here are, first and foremost, working farms, and an old bamboo planting near the house tends to rank well below the actual farm work on anyone's list of concerns.
A Union Mills quote, nine miles out from our shop, prices on how far the rhizomes have traveled from wherever the bamboo was originally planted, the same approach we take in nearby Bostic or Ellenboro. It's a fixed, written first-visit number before anything starts, with rhizome treatment included on every job, and a short afternoon job costs exactly what it says on paper, same as a longer two-day one would. Follow-up visits for new shoots are recommended and quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

THE CULMS
Forestry mulching takes the culms and the brush growing up around them down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
THE RHIZOMES
Bamboo regrows from rhizomes running underground from every culm. We treat them so new growth is a handful of shoots, not a new stand.
THE MAINTENANCE PLAN
We recommend coming back through the growing season to cut what resprouts. Those return visits are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see the price before anything is scheduled.

THE FROM $1,500 PRICE
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the rhizomes on a small, accessible area, such as a planted screen that escaped its bed. Bigger stands, tighter access near a foundation or driveway, and rhizomes that have already spread move the number up, and you see that number in writing before we schedule anything.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.
Bamboo regrows from rhizomes left in the ground. Mulching alone is not removal, which is why we recommend return visits. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.
HOW IT WORKS
Call, text or send the form with the property location and roughly how far the bamboo has spread. Photos help.
We look at access, how far the rhizomes reach and how dense the stand is, then send a fixed written price. No day rates.
Culms are mulched in place and rhizomes are treated on the first visit. We recommend coming back through the growing season to cut new shoots, quoted separately as a maintenance plan.
CLOSE TO HOME
Based in Rutherfordton. Working Rutherford, Polk, Cleveland, McDowell and Henderson counties and the Spartanburg side of the state line.
Not listed? Call anyway. If it is within about an hour of Rutherfordton we probably cover it.
Ground close to the river can be subject to rules a dry yard away from water isn't, so we check what applies to your particular spot before quoting rather than assuming. Riverbank access can also slow the equipment down, which we build into the price instead of discovering on the day of the job.
Regularly, yes. We'll go over fencing, gates and where livestock needs to stay clear before scheduling anything, and working around an active herd doesn't add a surcharge to the written price. Flag it when you first reach out so the visit gets planned with that in mind from the start.
