BOSTIC, RUTHERFORD COUNTY

Bamboo removal
in Bostic, NC

Out in Bostic, bamboo usually got its start as a windbreak or a shade planting right next to the farmhouse, and it's since crept toward the garden or a fence the mower can't get near. We clear it, treat the rhizomes and come back, seven miles from our shop.

Done by Brush Masters, Rutherfordton, NC. Fixed written price, no day rates.

BAMBOO IN BOSTIC

Bamboo removal around Bostic homesteads

Bostic is farm country, but the bamboo calls we get here almost never come from out in the pasture; they come from close to the house, where someone planted a windbreak or a shade screen years ago and it's been quietly spreading toward the garden, the barn, or a fence line the mower can't get near ever since.

Rutherford County EMS runs four ambulance stations across the county, one of them right here in Bostic alongside Spindale, Lake Lure and Caroleen, which gives a sense of how spread out this end of the county actually is. Much of our Bostic work is on land that's been in the same family for generations, where a bamboo planting set out near the original farmhouse decades back has had all the time and open ground it needed to get established.

Because the stand usually starts tight around the house rather than spread across acreage, a Bostic job tends to stay compact even on a large property, whatever the total size of the farm around it happens to be. The price, seven miles out from Rutherfordton, comes down to how far the rhizomes have actually traveled from that original planting rather than the size of the farm; it's fixed and written before we start, with rhizome treatment included on every job, no day rates either way. Follow-up shoot cutting is recommended and quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

01

THE CULMS

Cut and mulch

Forestry mulching takes the culms and the brush growing up around them down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.

02

THE RHIZOMES

Rhizome treatment

Bamboo regrows from rhizomes running underground from every culm. We treat them so new growth is a handful of shoots, not a new stand.

03

THE MAINTENANCE PLAN

Return visits

We recommend coming back through the growing season to cut what resprouts. Those return visits are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see the price before anything is scheduled.

THE FROM $1,500 PRICE

A base price,
with the scope made clear.

Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.

The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the rhizomes on a small, accessible area, such as a planted screen that escaped its bed. Bigger stands, tighter access near a foundation or driveway, and rhizomes that have already spread move the number up, and you see that number in writing before we schedule anything.

Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.

Bamboo regrows from rhizomes left in the ground. Mulching alone is not removal, which is why we recommend return visits. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.

HOW IT WORKS

Know the price.
Then decide.

  1. 01

    Tell us about the property

Call, text or send the form with the property location and roughly how far the bamboo has spread. Photos help.

  2. 02

    Walk it and price it

We look at access, how far the rhizomes reach and how dense the stand is, then send a fixed written price. No day rates.

  3. 03

    Cut, mulch, treat, return

Culms are mulched in place and rhizomes are treated on the first visit. We recommend coming back through the growing season to cut new shoots, quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

Bostic bamboo removal questions

All bamboo questions ↗

Could clearing bamboo off our Bostic fence damage the fence itself?

It's possible if a culm or a rhizome has grown directly into the wire or posts over the years; pulling that kind of established growth loose can take a section of fencing along with it. We walk the fence line first and give you a realistic idea of what might come loose, so it's part of the plan going in rather than a surprise once the crew starts.

Is a job at a farmhouse yard cheaper than clearing a bigger rural property?

It depends more on how far the rhizomes have spread than on the size of the land around it; an old, well-established planting on a small homestead can be more work than a younger stand on a much bigger property. We look at your actual ground and price what's really there rather than going by acreage alone.
