THE CULMS
Cut and mulch
Forestry mulching takes the culms and the brush growing up around them down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
SPINDALE, RUTHERFORD COUNTY
Spindale bamboo mostly traces back to a hedge planted decades ago behind a mill-era house, one that has since found its way through a shared fence or toward the corner of a garage. Two miles from our Rutherfordton shop, we clear it, treat the rhizomes and come back.
Done by Brush Masters, Rutherfordton, NC. Fixed written price, no day rates.
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.

What's includedBAMBOO IN SPINDALE
The mill-era housing that makes up much of Spindale sits on small, tightly spaced lots that were never laid out with much yard to spare, so a bamboo planting here rarely has far to travel before it reaches a fence, a retaining wall or a neighbor's garage. What reads as a modest patch from the street is often already tangled into a structure by the time anyone calls about it, and the surrounding houses sit close enough that a stand can affect more than one property at once.
Rutherford County's Soil and Water Conservation District has kept an office at 500 West Street in Spindale for years, a sign that county agriculture and conservation staff work out of this town every day despite its size. The same close-in blocks around that office produce a fair share of our Spindale bamboo calls, since older mill lots rarely left room for a planting to spread without crossing into someone else's yard.
Isothermal Community College sits nearby too, and the properties ringing campus carry their share of escaped plantings along fence lines nobody has kept up. Because Spindale is only two miles from our shop, travel barely factors into the number, so what actually moves the price is how far the rhizomes have gotten and how tight the access is, written down clearly before we start and never billed after the fact as a day rate.

THE CULMS
Forestry mulching takes the culms and the brush growing up around them down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
THE RHIZOMES
Bamboo regrows from rhizomes running underground from every culm. We treat them so new growth is a handful of shoots, not a new stand.
THE MAINTENANCE PLAN
We recommend coming back through the growing season to cut what resprouts. Those return visits are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see the price before anything is scheduled.

THE FROM $1,500 PRICE
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the rhizomes on a small, accessible area, such as a planted screen that escaped its bed. Bigger stands, tighter access near a foundation or driveway, and rhizomes that have already spread move the number up, and you see that number in writing before we schedule anything.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.
Bamboo regrows from rhizomes left in the ground. Mulching alone is not removal, which is why we recommend return visits. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.
HOW IT WORKS
Call, text or send the form with the property location and roughly how far the bamboo has spread. Photos help.
We look at access, how far the rhizomes reach and how dense the stand is, then send a fixed written price. No day rates.
Culms are mulched in place and rhizomes are treated on the first visit. We recommend coming back through the growing season to cut new shoots, quoted separately as a maintenance plan.
CLOSE TO HOME
Based in Rutherfordton. Working Rutherford, Polk, Cleveland, McDowell and Henderson counties and the Spartanburg side of the state line.
Not listed? Call anyway. If it is within about an hour of Rutherfordton we probably cover it.
That's routine for us here. We trace where the rhizomes have actually reached versus where the property line and fence sit, and if the bamboo is coming from next door we'll say so plainly on the walk-through so you know exactly what you're paying to fix.
Generally, since price tracks how far the rhizomes have spread rather than lot size on its own. That said, a cramped mill-lot job can take slower, more careful work than an open yard of the same footprint, so it isn't a simple per-square-foot calculation — we quote based on what's actually growing on your property.
