THE CULMS
Cut and mulch
Forestry mulching takes the culms and the brush growing up around them down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
CHIMNEY ROCK, RUTHERFORD COUNTY
Most Chimney Rock properties picked up a bamboo planting near the cabin at some point, usually as a windbreak, and it's spent years working down the grade toward the road cut below. We clear what a person can't safely reach on foot and treat the rhizomes, twelve miles from our shop.
Done by Brush Masters, Rutherfordton, NC. Fixed written price, no day rates.

Cut and mulch + Rhizome treatment + Return visits quoted separately
What's includedBAMBOO IN CHIMNEY ROCK
Almost every lot in Chimney Rock has real grade to it, tucked as the village is into some of the most dramatic terrain along the gorge. A windbreak or privacy screen planted near a cabin doesn't stay put on that kind of ground; the rhizomes follow gravity as readily as they'd follow a fence line on level ground, and an owner often has no idea how far a planting has traveled until it reaches somewhere nobody can safely check on foot.
The park that gives the village its name sits overlooking Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure, and the same dramatic terrain that makes the scenery worth the drive is what makes a Chimney Rock bamboo job different from a flat-yard job in Forest City. Where a stand has actually spread onto that kind of grade, our remote-controlled mulcher does the work a conventional machine or a two-person crew would otherwise have to avoid, cutting the bamboo in place instead of hauling it down toward US-64/74A.
A Chimney Rock quote breaks out any slope work as its own line item instead of folding it into a flat number, since production genuinely slows on ground this steep. Twelve miles from our Rutherfordton shop, you still get one written first-visit number covering the cutting and rhizome treatment, village lot or gorge wall. Return visits needed to catch new shoots are recommended and quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

THE CULMS
Forestry mulching takes the culms and the brush growing up around them down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
THE RHIZOMES
Bamboo regrows from rhizomes running underground from every culm. We treat them so new growth is a handful of shoots, not a new stand.
THE MAINTENANCE PLAN
We recommend coming back through the growing season to cut what resprouts. Those return visits are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see the price before anything is scheduled.

THE FROM $1,500 PRICE
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the rhizomes on a small, accessible area, such as a planted screen that escaped its bed. Bigger stands, tighter access near a foundation or driveway, and rhizomes that have already spread move the number up, and you see that number in writing before we schedule anything.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.
Bamboo regrows from rhizomes left in the ground. Mulching alone is not removal, which is why we recommend return visits. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.
HOW IT WORKS
Call, text or send the form with the property location and roughly how far the bamboo has spread. Photos help.
We look at access, how far the rhizomes reach and how dense the stand is, then send a fixed written price. No day rates.
Culms are mulched in place and rhizomes are treated on the first visit. We recommend coming back through the growing season to cut new shoots, quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

Not listed? Call anyway. If it is within about an hour of Rutherfordton we probably cover it.
Most of the time, yes; the remote-controlled mulcher was bought for exactly this kind of ground and handles the majority of what shows up in the gorge. A small number of lots are too boxed in or too steep even for that machine to reach every corner, and on those we're upfront about the limits during the walk-through rather than pricing a job we can't finish.
The address doesn't add cost on its own, but the grade usually does once bamboo has spread down it, since that kind of ground can call for the remote-controlled mulcher and slower, more deliberate work. We price the actual slope and access on your specific lot rather than charging a flat premium for the location.
