Is clearing bamboo close to a Forest City creek handled any differently?
It can be. Stream proximity, ground conditions and the proposed work need parcel-specific review. Flag the creek or drainage line when requesting a quote, and confirm applicable requirements and who is responsible for any approvals before scheduling. A dry access route does not itself establish permission to work near water.
Why does the bamboo near our creek keep spreading no matter how often we mow it?
Mowing only knocks back what's already above ground; the rhizomes underneath keep pushing new shoots as long as loose, damp soil gives them somewhere to travel, and creek-adjacent ground is about as easy for them to move through as it gets. Treating the rhizome system and returning for what resprouts is what actually slows a creek-side stand down over time.
Can you take the bamboo that has spread onto the trail edge?
Only on the private side of the line. The corridor belongs to the towns and the county, so the crew cuts to your boundary and treats the rhizomes there. Culms will keep coming up from the untreated corridor, so a maintenance visit is recommended and quoted separately.
