THE CULMS
Cut and mulch
Forestry mulching takes the culms and the brush growing up around them down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
FOREST CITY, RUTHERFORD COUNTY
A Forest City bamboo stand is usually a decades-old planting near a creek bank or the old rail bed later paved into a trail, and it hasn't slowed down since. Four miles out from our Rutherfordton shop, we clear it, treat the rhizomes and put a written number on the whole job before we start.
Done by Brush Masters, Rutherfordton, NC. Fixed written price, no day rates.
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.

What's includedBAMBOO IN FOREST CITY
Forest City straddles the Second Broad River drainage, and a good share of what we get called out for here started life as an ornamental planting near a creek bank or a low, damp spot behind a house. Bamboo does well on that kind of loose, wet ground, and once a homeowner stops keeping it trimmed, the rhizomes head toward the water on one side and toward the house on the other.
The RHI Legacy Foundation funded construction of the Thermal Belt Rail Trail, a paved path 12 feet wide and 13.36 miles long built along one of the area's old rail beds, running through exactly the kind of formerly cleared, creek-adjacent ground bamboo tends to claim once regular mowing stops. We don't touch trail property itself, but plenty of the private lots backing up to it carry an old privacy planting that outgrew its original spot long before the trail traffic ever picked up.
Because ground near a creek stays soft, a Forest City stand is often dense rather than especially tall, which changes how the mulcher has to move without making the job any harder to quote fairly. Every job from here, four miles out from Rutherfordton, is still a fixed first-visit number that covers the cut and the rhizome treatment, and we flag anything within reach of a stream or drainage line before the crew ever starts cutting. Follow-up visits are recommended and quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

THE CULMS
Forestry mulching takes the culms and the brush growing up around them down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
THE RHIZOMES
Bamboo regrows from rhizomes running underground from every culm. We treat them so new growth is a handful of shoots, not a new stand.
THE MAINTENANCE PLAN
We recommend coming back through the growing season to cut what resprouts. Those return visits are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see the price before anything is scheduled.

THE FROM $1,500 PRICE
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the rhizomes on a small, accessible area, such as a planted screen that escaped its bed. Bigger stands, tighter access near a foundation or driveway, and rhizomes that have already spread move the number up, and you see that number in writing before we schedule anything.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.
Bamboo regrows from rhizomes left in the ground. Mulching alone is not removal, which is why we recommend return visits. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.
HOW IT WORKS
Call, text or send the form with the property location and roughly how far the bamboo has spread. Photos help.
We look at access, how far the rhizomes reach and how dense the stand is, then send a fixed written price. No day rates.
Culms are mulched in place and rhizomes are treated on the first visit. We recommend coming back through the growing season to cut new shoots, quoted separately as a maintenance plan.
CLOSE TO HOME

Not listed? Call anyway. If it is within about an hour of Rutherfordton we probably cover it.
Sometimes, since ground within reach of a stream or drainage line can fall under rules that a dry yard doesn't. We check what applies to your exact spot before quoting instead of assuming, and if a permit step turns out to be necessary we take care of it as part of the job rather than raising it after the fact.
Mowing only knocks back what's already above ground; the rhizomes underneath keep pushing new shoots as long as loose, damp soil gives them somewhere to travel, and creek-adjacent ground is about as easy for them to move through as it gets. Treating the rhizome system and returning for what resprouts is what actually slows a creek-side stand down over time.
